Staff celebrate 35 years' service

With nearly 250 years’ service between them, seven trentbarton employees have joined the our ‘35 years + Club’.

They were recently presented with awards to mark 35 years’ service with trentbarton - a company that prides itself on exceptionally low staff turnover.

Pictured here after receiving their long service awards are: (back row, left to right) Richard Woods, Health, Safety & Facilities Officer, and Michael Abell, a Skilled Electrician; (middle row) Dave Williams, Operations Manager, and (front row, left to right)  Barry Mousley, Driver at Langley Mill, Susan Woodruff, Payroll Supervisor, and Peter Timby, Driver at Langley Mill. David Whitton, a Driver at Sutton, also received an award but was unable to attend the presentation.

Jeff Counsell, Managing Director, explained: “We really are a close-knit team, and many staff have been with us for several decades.

“Customers often comment that our drivers have become their friends, they’ve known them for so long on the same route.”

A major reason for such staff loyalty is the opportunities for career progression. The company, which employs around 1,000 people, has seen many employees work their way up to management positions.

“In fact the latest group to receive a long service award is drawn from across all areas of the business and includes drivers, managers and an electrician,” Jeff said.

In addition even more employees attended the awards to celebrate 25 years service - the whole group can be pictured here at the awards night.
