Join in the fun during our Big Weekend on the buses

We are planning two days of activities starting on Saturday, September 8, to raise cash for Rainbows Children’s Hospice, our charity for 2012.

Over the weekend our drivers will be sporting fancy dress and celebratory hats and badges to mark the event.  But the real fun begins on Sunday 9 September, trent barton drivers will be flexing their muscles at the former Barton’s bus depot in Chilwell, with a sponsored bus pull – heave lads and lasses, heave! All the money raised from their herculean efforts (and willingness to make complete fools of themselves) will, of course, go to our great cause, the Rainbows Children’s Hospice.

Why not come over and support us? While over at Barton’s you can also have a gander at Barton’s Heritage Open Day, which is running at the same time and promises food stalls, a bar and a selection of vintage cars and buses on show.

The bus pull will start at 10am on Sunday with four races taking place throughout the morning, the grand final will take place at midday.  Anyone who wants to show their support for Rainbows and make a donation - just follow this link.

Alex Hornby, Commercial Director, explained: “The event already offers fun for all the family, with a vintage bus and car show, food stalls and a bar. There’ll also be a charity bus pull and visitors can enjoy viewing a selection of vintage buses.

"Over the weekend, we will be donating 5p from every fare sold across our network and many drivers will be getting into the spirit of things by putting on fancy dress.

“There’ll also be collection tins on our buses over trent barton's Big Weekend so customers who can’t make it to the event can still show their support for a very worthy cause,”

Based in Loughborough, Rainbows aims to improve the quality of life for children with life limiting conditions, and their families, throughout the East Midlands.
