We’ve also got a great deal if you want to get from Alvaston in Derby and need to get to Nottingham. Just buy a £7.50 all-in return from your skylink Derby driver after 9am- this covers your complete return trip into Nottingham. Change in Derby bus station.
Or, if you travel on Nottingham City Transport, the NET tram or Arriva in Derby you can upgrade your day ticket for £6.80, or Easyrider to travel on red arrow to Derby or Nottingham and back. These upgrades are also available at the same price to Robin Hood day and season ticket holders. Just show your ticket to the driver to buy your upgrade.

train add-on
If you’re going to East Midlands Airport by train, buy your ticket to ‘East Midlands Airport’ and this will then be valid on our skylink and my15 bus right to the terminal doors.
(Don’t get confused with ‘East Midlands Parkway’ – this is some distance to the Airport, and you won’t like the idea of a long walk, lugging your cases across pavement-less roads and a busy motorway junction.)
the multi-operator smartcard for buses and trams in Nottingham
It’s a very useful smartcard with an electronic purse from which the cost of travel is automatically deducted as you travel around Nottingham. You don’t have to decide in advance which ticket to purchase – the card works this out and gives you the best fare on the day for the trips you’ve made. Smartcard readers on buses and trams give you a running total of your fare as you move around the city - you don’t need to wait for a statement of your account.
Robin Hood Pay as You Go travel is available on all trentbarton [except red arrow and skylink Clifton], Kinchbus, NCT and Linkbus buses in the Greater Nottingham area and is valid for all NET tram stops.
You can buy and top-up your Robin Hood cards from ticket machines across the city.
You can also buy a Robin Hood day ticket on any of our buses for travel around Nottingham city centre. Adult £6.40, Child £4.10.

Ilkeston transfer tickets
Catching an ilkeston flyer or the two where the journey ends in Ilkeston? Or travelling from Cotmanhay and need to change in Ilkeston?
You can purchase a transfer ticket for the same price as an adult single that you can then use to connect to Cotmanhay. You can also purchase a transfer ticket from Cotmanhay towards Derby or Nottingham. The ticket is valid for 90 minutes from purchase to give you time to get the next bus.
