Free ride Sunday rides on trentbarton buses in January

Why not get out and about on January weekends with free bus journeys from trentbarton between 10am and 11am on Sundays.

Our free ride Sunday is the perfect way to kick start the New Year after the festivities. Every Sunday in January all trentbarton buses across the East Midlands will be free to use for everybody.

There's no small print - just hop on any trentbarton bus (excluding pronto, and Arriva X38 buses) between 10am and 11am on the 13,20 and 27 January and there is no fare to pay whatsoever.

Jordan Kemp, trentbarton's marketing and communications manager, said: "After all the indulgences and spending in December, free ride Sunday is the perfect antidote. It's also a great time to make a new start - and that can include taking back your Sundays from the sofa.

"Our network covers the East Midlands, so if you're planning on getting out to visit friends and family, eat somehwhere new, grab some bargains in the sales, or going for a peaceful stroll in the peaks, we'll be going your way.

"There is always lots going on for the thousands of passengers who will be travelling for free on Sunday mornings - including on our fast and comfy red arrow coaches between Nottingham and Derby."

Martin Langsdale and Helen Wathall, chaif of the Cathedral Quarter and St Peters Quater BIDs (Business Improvement Districts) said: "We hope that free rude Sunday will encourage more people into Derby city centre to experience everything the Cathedral Quarter and St Peters Quater have to offer.

"Whether it's to do some shopping, get a bite to eat, or spend sometime at one of the cultural venues, visitors can leave the car at home for the day and take advantage of this great offer."

Jeff Allen, Chairman of Nottingham Business Improvement District (BID), said: "This is a great initiative that we hope encourages lots more people to come to Nottingham city centre to enjoy all that the city has to offer.

"It means that anyone living in places as far afield as Derby, Heanor, Hucknall, Mansfield, Bingham, Keyworth and Radcliffe as well as places closer to the city such as West Bridgford, Arnold and Beeston, can travel to Nottingham for free of charge on these mornings and not have to bother with parking either.

"Having discovered or rediscovered just how great Nottingham is, hopefully it will encourage them to return too."
