We’re doing our bit to show appreciation of the bravery and dedication shown by our country’s servicemen and women by offering them free weekend travel over the summer - including Armed Forces Day Saturday 28 June 2014.

Throughout 2014, we’re also supporting Help for Heroes, and have already raised thousands of pounds for this respected and worthwhile charity including at our BIG BUS & TRAIN BASH at Wirksworth.

Alex Hornby, our Marketing and Communications Director, explained: “We are only too aware of the risks service personnel face when on active duty overseas, but they also do a sterling job – day in, day out – to keep our country safe.

“By offering them free travel at weekends and on bank holidays, we hope they can make the most of the time they have with family and friends. At the same time we want to show our gratitude for all their hard work.”

The offer runs from 7 June until the end of September, and all members of the army, navy and air force have to do to enjoy free travel is show their forces ID when boarding a trentbarton bus on Saturdays and Sundays.

Alex added: “Our partnership with Help for Heroes also provides the opportunity to support serving and former members of the armed services who have been injured in the line of duty, and we will be running a number of fundraising events throughout the year.”
