We help to build a career for jobseekers in Stapleford

Free training for the unemployed is being offered by a joint venture between a community group, a housing developer and trentbarton.

People in Stapleford will have the opportunity to gain a qualification which will allow them to work on construction sites. Stapleford Community Group will be running a Construction Skills Certificate Scheme (CSCS) at The Meeting Place, Nottingham Road, Stapleford.

Chairman Richard MacRae said: “This is about getting local people in Stapleford jobs and this training could help with that.

“The CSCS card could really open doors for people because once they have got it, they can then work on building sites or the tram development or other construction projects. The more qualifications people have, the better chance they have of getting employed.”

People taking the exam will be able to travel to Nottingham for free thanks to trentbarton. We are supplying free MANGO cards pre-loaded with funds for the journey.

Our Team Leader, Kurt Cappello, said: “We appreciate that people value us in getting them to and from work, and therefore it makes sense to help those in our communities to access work and developing their futures with the best-value fares possible.

“We hope by offering MANGO cards to job-seekers, it eliminates barriers and enables people to access employment by bus as easily as possible.”
